As I already told you, our grandpa used to own a junkyard. This 1924 Fordson tractor was one of the most special vehicles he had. Every time I see this pictures I must thing about the great times we had as children playing on this thing. Now it also serves as a great inspiration for our scale models. I might be scratch building a tractor one day as I couldn’t find any good old tractors on 1:24 or 1:25 scale.
Notice that this pictures were taken with an old Nikon spiegel reflex cameras. I fortunately kept all negatives and with my new scanner I was able to digitalize hundred of really cool pic of grandpa’s junkyard.
Here you have a few pictures of this tractor. More pictures of cool old stuff coming soon. Enjoy it!
The front grill is just a great piece of art in cast iron. Made to last forever!
Dashboard? What for? Cool old school: a steering wheel is enough!
During the shooting sessions of grandpa’s junkyard I always tried to take color and black & white pictures. Back then you had to carry two cameras and that was not that easy, but I’m glad I did.
I found a 1/25 scale resin tractor at ‘the parts box’ online shop. it appears to be a 70’s style Ford or Massie.
it makes a nice looking piece once it’s weathered down and rusty. here’s mine:
