Farmer’s Day in The Netherlands (Boerendag Alphen 2013)

August 18, 2013

I must admit, this summer is a great summer in The Netherlands. We are enjoying great weather, and with this great weather I can really enjoy visiting open air events like the one I went to last saturday: “Farmer’s Day” ( in dutch “Boerendag”) in Alphen.

It was actually a double event as there was also a “110 Year Ford Anniversary” taking place. Lots of european classic Fords were present, not only cars, but also vintage tractors. Dozens of tractors were there, most of them Fords, but also other makes such as Hanomag and Fiat.

The interesting thing about this event was that the machines were not just standing there but you could see them actually functioning. Many harvesting machines were also functioning and harvesting different kind of cereals with the different kind of technologies from each decade of the las century.

I made also new friends from the “Taunus M Club Nederland” of which I spontaneously decided to become a member. I’ll tell you more about this guys in an other post.

All of the pics of the tractors were great but I had to click on each pic and wait for it to pop up in another window then click on it again to enlarge it. Can you put the pics in a slideshow format for easer viewing?

Hi Charles. Thanks for commenting! Apparently I made a mistake when posting the slideshow. I already corrected it. Now it should work fine.
