Dutch Mc Dondald’s restaurant design inspired by first Mc Donald’s in Des Plaines, Illinois.

February 20, 2013

A few weeks ago, Iggy was visiting me in The netherlands and we just went for a short ride to visit this new Mc Donald’s restaurant.

The architecture is inspired by the first Mc Donald’s restaurant, located in Des Plaines Illinois. Although everything looks very retro, it was very surprising to see the new ultra modern easy order ordering systems inside the restaurant.

Lots of memorabilia were also to be found inside, such as Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley statues, a ’57 Chevrolet Corvette replica hanging from the ceiling, a Tokheim 39 Shell gas pump, a Coke vending machine, a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a huge Michael Jackson statute outside.

The pictures are not the best. The always grey dutch weather makes it very difficult to take good pictures outside, but anyway, the pictures are good enough for you to get an idea of how this new “old” restaurant looks like.
