KIT REVIEW – 39 Chevy Coupe Street Rod – Monogram 1/24

I would like to share this kit review with you. This maby isn’t the best kit of the history, but it is surely fun to build! This kit a very similar to the 37 Ford Sedan I’ve reviewed some time ago.

The kit hasn’t many parts, but the parts are quite well moulded. The issue is, though, that you don’t have much options to build or parts for your parts box. You have only one building option: street rod.

The body is quite well moulded. However, it doesn’t have much special details. Unlike some other kits with more parts, the door handles are moulded onto the body, for instance. I must add, though, that the moulded details are good enough. In some cases, the separate door handles don’t look so realistic anyway 😉

The clear parts are quite ok. Those who have red my reviews before will know what comes next! That’s right: there aren’t any clear red parts! Anyhow, the chrome tail lights can be painted  – which looks good too! As you can see, you only get one set of tires for the street rod.

The chromed parts aren’t many, but good enough. You get some chromed parts for the engine (valve covers, intake manifold)  and you also get some other parts, such as the side mirror, an antenna, rims, the grille and of course the bumpers!

The decals fit to the street rod topic too!

As said before, this many isn’t the greatest kit ever, but is quite ok. If you get it as a present, you can be happy about it. It can be a cool kit just for the fun of a fast build, for instance.

  • Quite good tooling
  • Good instructions

  • Only 81 parts
  • Not much options (only custom options)
