A while back I bought an old Grundig TV Super Color 1630 from 1976. I already knew what I wanted to do with it but I wanted to keep it secret.
Here is the first part of the process, disassembling and cleaning the old television set. I’ve been reading online about dissembling old television sets and I learned that the tubes somehow can keep an electric charge over the years. You have to discharge the tube by grounding it or if you have no idea what this is all about, just ask someone who does.
After disassembling the TV, I decided to build an empty box inside and a separate box that would just perfectly fit inside in order to be able to remove and replace the diorama any time I want. That way I can use the 3D TV display case for many different dioramas.

Really cool diorama. Your idea for the vintage soda crates was great. Where can I find printable image for creating crates? Having trouble finding side views…. Keep up the good work guys. Awesome!!
Hi Jacques, The soda crates were a huge job actually. I collected hundreds of pictures online, adjust and resized them in order to make the crates. I’ll be posting a pdf with all the crates soon. Stay tuned.
