I was having a look at the portfolio of a friend on behance.net when I suddenly came across this great promotion videos for the world famous series “Pimp My Ride” where they used model cars to make the videos. The result is great, and the usage of the forced perspective shots is just perfect combining this time not only model cars and real buildings (as we also do in our photo shootings of the Gas Station and the Old Barn) but also with people in the background. By accurately calculating the distance between the scale models and the real life buildings and people, they created a great “giant hand” effect picking up the old car and bringing the pimped ride back.
Here you have the original Pimp my ride promotion videos.
This is the behance profile where you can sneak behind the scenes of this project.
Really funny videos!!!
Really cool stuff . Really enjoy the info and sites you bring to my attention. How would I go about posting one of my projects here ?
thanks
Hi Terry, Thanks a lot for your feedback! Just send us an email to info (at) modeljunkyard (dot) com with a few pics and a short story about what you do, how long, etc. If we like the stuff, we publish it.
Thanks for sharring theses cool videos I never ever thought about the differnt ways model cars
are used to achieve different effects.
Cheers Darcy
Hi Guys I haven’t wrote you in a while so I figured maybe you’d like to see my new build….one of my favorite cars as a “kid” in school and still is. It’s an umblemished 1971 Chevelle…..with another masking tape vinyl roof! Remember my first one? The Wimbleton white Grand Prix? Am reluctant to share pictures because it’s not a “pre-restoration” rust project. But my lastest one, another favorite, a 1964 Grand Prix has before pictures from the auction seller. I will get to a rusty one sometime! Robert Gillmeister
Hi Robert, thanks for your message! I would love to see your new project! Please send us the pics to info (at) modeljunkyard (dot) com
Hey guys, you’re sending some really great stuff.
I shall photograph my “yard” this weekend and send it off. Not as graphic as some but I like it,
Andrew
Hey Andrew!
Feel free to send us your pics! We would love to see them,
Iggy
