This is one of my easiest projects, but one of my favorites. It turned out a beautiful piece not only good for a diorama but also great as a decoration piece. I just love the way it looks on my desk next to my computer and enjoy every day looking at it.
Here you see the sign, unassembled next to my gas pumps, the Fairlane sofa and the old barn. I had to think about those sign boneyards, as there is one in vegas, full of old casino signs… you already know what I’m thinking… recreating one of those boneyards in scale! I already have enough materials as inspiration for those signs and I would love to build them all just right now! But for the moment I have to be satisfied with my “CAR WASH” sign.
ABOUT THE BOOK
I also made a new book for those of you interested in building this model. As always, it includes all blueprints in 12 scales. Most of them included on the book. The bigger ones accessible at the customer area (as they just do not fit in the book). It also includes a 3D step by step tutorial, online videos and pictures.

THE FINISHED SIGN
Here a few pictures of the finished project. I must admit, this pictures were not take on the real places but are photo mounted. Both landscapes are pictures from holidays in Spain. The first one is a a beautiful sunset in the city of Valencia. The second one, rocky mountain-like landscape was taken around Zaragoza. Spain has definitely great landscapes, beaches, cities, weather, food and funny people! (only the economy is not that good over there! You can’t have it all! 😉 )
